The Unexpected and Less Glamorous

I have felt all weekend that I need to write a blog post. I'm still not 100% sure what I need to write about, so I'm going to start typing my heart and see what happens.

Well, I DID read a poem last night and it has totally destoryed my mind... in a good way. I seriously can't quit thinking about it. A photog friend shared this poem and I ran across it last night... or it ran across me. When I started reading it I had no idea that it would so drastically change my perspective. The poem is called 'Welcome to Holland' and I will share it below. This poem not only talks about children with special needs but it also speaks to the challenges of everyday life. I have read it over and over and it never quits screaming something new everytime I read it. Maybe I'm just all in my 'feels' this morning, but something about this poem gives me determination to be a better business owner, photographer and human in general. I think you'll understand when you read it. A lot of times we have plans for ourself that are huge and extavagant. We make plans that are always on time and in season. How many know that plans change? I do. I've been there. I've seen it first hand. We have all had to go a different route and take the unexpected, less glamorous, road. It's not about which route you take but rather how you handle it. We all serve a God who's intentions are for us and not against, and this has proven to be true. God is faithful.

Kathryn and I are currently in a position right now that will launch us into our future. We are excited to see what comes of it and are excited to share it with you when the time is right. We have plans in motion and have prayfully put these plans in God's hands. With plans come change and with change comes trust. We have put our total trust in God and will anxiously watch HIS plan unfold over ours. I'm glad I'm living my life in this place... a place where we accept change as a chance to see God and a place where comparison doesn't matter. Happy Monday

(Well, that was pretty good for having 'nothing' to write about... HA!)
